Court Young's Acer Netbook at the local Barnes & Noble Bookstore I spend many of my mornings at the local Barnes & Noble bookstore writing and blogging with my ACER netbook computer. I use a Seagate Free Agent Pro (320 GB) external USB hard drive and my cell phone as a modem. Using Microsoft Windows 7 gives me connectivity with my home office network. The ACER replaced my full sized Fujitsu LifeBook which now spends its days at in my office at home. This 2.8 pound wonder was the precursor to the current netbooks. This laptop included a built in DVD drive, two USB ports and an 12 inch screen. It was an amazing machine for its time. Laptops are quickly becoming the computers of choice. They are energy efficient and portable. In fact, I am using a 64 bit laptop for the server in my small business network. Tied to a UPS system, this laptop keeps my network running just as efficiently as my old desktop. It reduces my electrical use by at least 30%. I recommend replacing desktop servers with laptop machines where possible.
